Our ICARUS PfCO Drone Course for Stoke-on-Trent is hosted at the popular Best Western Moat House Hotel. The venue offers ample free parking for delegates as well as refreshments throughout the two days. The hotel is within easy reach of both Manchester, Birmingham and Derby and is only 15 minutes from Junction 15 of the M6.

Staffordshire is the home of Aerial Motion Pictures Ltd, with our HQ based up at the Business Innovation Centre at Keele University Science and Innovation Park.

Flight Examinations for Stoke-on-Trent take place at Cudmore Fisheries, Whitmore in Staffordshire.

What is the timetable for the course?

Below is an outline of the ICARUS Theory Course syllabus; it shows the lessons you will undertake in order to learn the required information to be a competent and safe commercial operator. The theory course culminates with a multiple choice examination of 50 questions. The pass mark for the exam is 80% – but do not be phased by this! We will ensure that you have the required knowledge to pass the exam by the time you come to sit it.

  • Meteorology

  • Airspace and Operating Principles

  • Operations Manual & Risk Assessment

  • Li-Po Batteries

Day 2

9am - 5pm

  • Human Factors

  • Operator Responsibilities & Airmanship

  • Navigation

  • Flight Planning

  • UKLFS and Collision Effects

  • Revision

  • Exam

Flight Test

(Must be completed up to 12 months from completing your Theory Course)

2 Hour AM/PM

  • On-Site Survey & Risk Assessment

  • Brief the instructor

  • Practical Assesment

  • Result & De-Brief
